Sangamuwa viharaya nests on the Gokarella village of Kurunegala, Sri lanka. It has earned a reputation due to the ancient valuable inscription engraved regarding peace. Actually the inscription is a peace agreement. Take Kurunegala - Dambulla road and within 54 km off from kurunegala turn to your right and travel along the road to the temple. The temple is situated on a hill rock facing Meddekitiya wewa on the west. Once upon a time two parties accumulated for a war realizing the usefulness of such distasteful battle and integrated, not to fight and wrote it on a rock slab.
