Horagolla national park must be visited with the advent of the time to explore Sri Lankan tourism. The park expands approximately about 13.3 hec. It is located in the Nambadaluwa village of Udagampaththuwa of Siyane Korale site. The land is professed as a sanctuary in 1973. It was promoted as a national park in 2004. Horagolla national park is deemed to be the smallest national park under the Department of Wildlife conservation. You are welcomed with a gracious entertainment since from the entrance. The park is like a herbarium of Kekuna, Godapara, Diyapara, Dodam tala, Ki kiridiya, Kitul, Nedun, Milla, Moona mal, Pus wel, Pihimbiya, etamba, del,Bo, Ankenda, and giant trees like Kaluwara, mahogany and teak. Since the park is full filled with Bio diversity a variety of plant species and grass have grown up the value.

A cluster of flora and fauna are preserved for tourists to be explored. Sri Lankan jungle fowl, fishing cat, giant squirrel, monkeys, golden jackal are some of the animal species living together with the other animal kinds here. Not only that but also reptiles, amphibians have become the owners in the underground nests. Yet many animals, which are faced to endanger, are living together in the Horagolla national park. Wild life researchers say that about 65 species of birds can be seen in the park. The canopy of the forest is interesting. It is a colony of birds like Lanka hanging bird, dwarf king Fisher, Ceylon bird wing, and parakeets. So that some introduce the park as a bird sanctuary. Further rare kinds of tortoises can be found at the park. An adventure through the forest will refresh your body, mind, and soul. Some of the routes are paved with concrete. A government guide will guide you to explore all around the Horagolla national park. Therefore you won’t get lost. Another curious feature is huge termite mounds. Somehow you can see many labeled trees with the common Sinhala name and the scientific name. You will meet a summer house amidst in the canal. You can rest for a while in the summer hut. But I’m sure that you won’t get tired by way of you will get treated of a cool breeze. The most important feature of the national is accessibility. It is better if you can take an umbrella with you as if it gets rained you can get protected. And also you can’t enter the park by vehicles.
